ABC believes that child-sponsorship has the power to drive change that ripples throughout children’s lives, families and entire communities.

Universal Education

Educated communities are healthier, more sustainable, and less vulnerable to economic volatility.

We support grassroots educational initiatives that provide equitable education to all children, increase opportunities to the disabled and emphasize service to the community. Our goal is to alleviate poverty, strengthen families and support community-led transformations so that no child is subjected to excessive labor or deprived of the gift of education

Academic Recovery Education (ARE) – This is an alternative instructional delivery system which allows over-aged, under-credited students to earn sufficient credits or students who have already dropped out to return to school. ARE offers five specific services to both the student and their families: assessment, education, accountability, counseling and parental involvement.
Students At-Risk (STAR) - The goal of STAR program is to prevent highly at-risk students from dropping out of school. The curriculum hinges on the application of evidence-based instructional practices, development of life skills and academic enablers. Again, by fostering interpersonal skills, motivation, engagement, and study skills, the program drives student success in their schools and community environments.

Community Transformation

Children need families, families need communities, and communities need the city. ABC is a place where all of these come together and opportunities are created for transformation.

Many children live in a food insecure household in sub-Saharan Africa. Because of our goal to improve educational outcomes, ABC supplements Ghana government’s school feeding programs in rural communities to improve child nutrition.
Based on cross-sector collaboration with our partners, adult literacy classes, skills development training for the unemployed, capacity building, community counseling services to resolve land/chieftaincy disputes, microfinance for local entrepreneurs and civic education.

In order to assist clients in achieving legal status, economic self-sufficiency, as well as, becoming fully active participants in the social and civic life of our communities, ABC offers a variety of services both before the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and the immigration court.
